Students we have started reading our new novel, The Watsons go to Brimingham. You have read the first two chapters by now and you have met the narrator Kenny Watson. How do you feel about this character? Would you be able to be a teenager during the 1960s and deal with all the issues that he has to deal with? Why or Why not? i fell that the caraters are belevable because they go through some of the same problems we go though now. if i had to be a tenager in the 60's i would have been one because i woulnt have a dision on wether or not i would want to live in the 60's

well i think kenny is a very down to earth charater compared to the rest of the family.also i think it would be hard to live in the 60s.But if i lived in the 60s i would not really care because i would have my family.

hey mrs.Richardson responding to the blog yesa i would and its really nothing to deal with back when they were teens and now a day its not really hard at all have a lot of responsibilities and issues but otherwise naw and i really like the book c ya !
I feel that the narrator is use to all of the nonsense that goes around so he's alwright with that.I probably could dealwith all of the things that go around in his house.I might ignore them or I might get them to stop.
No because first of all they did not have all the things we have now.Secondly they way we deal with things now is not as good and as acurate as we do in the 2000 centry. last just being a teenager is hard work why would i want to make it harder by living in the 60's. And just to say their cloths are ugly.
Kenny has his own potentiel hes diff. i dont think i could live back then nd go through what he has because i have before and its not fun. So i try not to acked like the rude stupid ways some people acked like.
I fell that Kenny is a real kid. He has most of the problems we do. I do not think I could live back then. I depend on technology so much for my entertainment that I would be so bored!
I think kenny is a normal kid. he is like any other kid. also no I could not live back then. I need a xbox360 and gears of war 2 copy. plus anime very important.
I think kenny is dealing with some of the same problems we deal with today. He gets teased and his older brother messes with him. I do not think I could have dealt with the problems he had. He barely has anything to do. I just pick up my Ipod touch and listen to my music.

i think that Kenny is a real,good kid.i feel that Kenny goes through some of the same problems that we go through today.no, i could not live in the 60's because it would probly be so boring and if i lived in the 60's i would not be using this comupter right now,so no i do not want to live in the 60's.

I think the caraters stay with there family alot. and if i was a teenager in the story i would not want to be. because they dont have a lot of money. and I'm a person that dosen't like the cold. but i would like to live in the ^0's becaus i would show them how to dress good and how to wash clothes the right way.

If I was Kenny I would be in a tough spot, because he is constantly bullied by the children at his school and neighborhood. If I was in his place I wouldn't let people pick on me I would tell someone of higher authority. I would also stand up for myself to show how independent I am.
I feel that its pretty hard to be a teenager in his times expesually color'd ones cause of discrimination. I would not be able to be a teenager in his time! Being bullied is something i've moved on from and its not fun. I was at my last straw befor they stoped. Good timing but yeah, back then didn';t have much technology and stuff so i'd rather be a teenager now then befor.

i think kenny is a well capable boy who will become a great man. I would not want live in the 1960s though because the way they dress and hoe dirty everybody is well the people i have read about so far.

I think Kenny is a great person.I wouldn't want to be a teenager in the 60's because I wouldn't want to deal wit segregation.Plus,I like the life I am living in now.Not a single white person is treatin' me or my family no different than they are treated.

i think the story is interesting. kenny is a good kid.he doesnt have alot of friends but hes smart and intelligent.byron is crazy and im glad he lost his lips
I think the characters are beleivable because any kind of family could act like that. If I was a teenager back then it be that easy to get aruond like you can now.
from my point of view i like the character of kenneth.he is a very nice boy to me because if i had a chance to get revenge at one of my family members i know i would but i guess thats just me.for the second question, no i would not have been able to live back then because so many of the situations that he had went through i would not have been able to do it because half of the things im going through now i cant even handle them.
